Brussels: police dismantle a network of cannabis traffickers

The year 2025 began facing the police for several dealers, members of a Brussels network of traffickers. This January 1, a man attracts the attention of a police patrol west of Brussels. He shifts nervously in his seat, looks around suspiciously through the window of his taxi. Details which prompted the officers to carry out a check of the vehicle.

The suspect hid two bags of cannabis as well as blocks of resin under the seat, details the Belgian daily La Libre. The investigation then highlights the role of the taxi dealer, who had to transport the bags of cannabis, delivered by a third party, from one end of Brussels to the other.

The clues lead the police to a building, located in the northwest of the European capital, where other bags of drugs are found in an apartment, as well as on suspects present in the stairwell. “In the bedroom of the apartment, the police came across a real small cannabis business,” writes La Libre. Total amount of the seizure: nearly 50,000 euros in cash and some 15 kilos of cannabis and cannabis resin.

Three suspects were placed under arrest warrant by the investigating judge. They are facing several charges: criminal conspiracy, sale and possession of drugs and money laundering.
