As excitement builds around the upcoming console Nintendocommonly called Nintendo SWITCH 2 rumors continue to feed the news feed.
After what appears to be the console’s first strip tease et a speculation on its performanceanother rumor arrives immediately.
So this time, it’s a little different since the rumor is based on a patent newly filed by Nintendo which develops technology that allows games to be reduced in size and run at a higher resolution using AI.
The patent explicitly mentions l’upscaling DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) of Nvidia while rumors have been claiming for months that the Nintendo SWITCH 2 will precisely optimize the rendering of games thanks to this technology in TV mode (via the new dock).
The idea is to reduce the size of games while allowing them to have optimal resolution in TV mode. The patent gives the example of a 4K game whose initial size would be 60 Go and which could thanks to this technology be reduced to 20 GB.
So at this point, like pretty much anything related to Nintendo SWITCH 2 (or whatever it’s actually called), this is just speculation.
Moreover, Nintendo regularly publishes patents which are ultimately not used.
However, this time, we would be tempted to believe it… Even if we will wait wisely until Nintendo decides to lift the veil on its new console (perhaps next week?)
In the meantime, don’t hesitate to tell us what you think about it in the comments. And while we’re at it: Have a good year !
