This January 1, 2025, under beautiful sunshine, the Bouchères park in Foix experienced an exceptional influx of visitors.

On January 1, 2025, life in Fuxe was not static. At the start of the afternoon, local residents met at Bouychères park. After a quick tour of this place, very popular with the local population, we could count almost a hundred people.

From the moment you enter, the tone is set. Under the footbridge which spans the river which flows around ten meters below, a few birds, perched on the rocks, play with the reflections of the water, on the lookout for a snack. The park exudes good humor, punctuated by the laughter of children rushing to the attractions: slides, zip lines, high wire and hide and seek in the bushes. As for the walkers, they share the same serenity, reinforcing the peaceful atmosphere of the park.

“I come there once a month”

This is the case of Stéphane de Prayols, who came with his mother and his two children, including Alice, four years old, who is taking full advantage of the apparatus and the beautiful sun. “I come there once a month and I stay for about an hour,” explains Stéphane.

A walk also appreciated by Yara, three years old, and her mother Zara. “We often come during school holidays, we breathe well,” says the mother. “I’m happy to have come to the park, I like the games and there are many of them,” continues the little girl.

For Pauline and Thibault, recently settled in Pamiers after leaving Île-de-, the Bouychères park is a haven of peace. “It’s very pleasant, the sun is magnificent today,” says the soldier from the 1st RCP. An observation shared by Pauline and their granddaughter Joyce, aged two. “We discover the landscape, the mountains, it’s calm and relaxing,” says his companion.

For their part, Astrid and Clémence, her daughter, accompanied by little Noah, are regulars of the place. If the park remains a breath of fresh air in the heart of the county town, according to them, certain points could be improved. “The park is well equipped, the vegetation is plentiful. Perhaps it lacks a water point to quench your thirst,” emphasizes Astrid, Noah’s grandmother.

On the other hand, it is not the pétanque players who are likely to complain. They benefit from a beautiful play area, shaded in summer and furnished with benches.

Without a doubt, the park is unanimously appreciated.
