The driver of the Tesla Cybertruck who was killed when the vehicle exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas has been identified as a Colorado resident who served in the military.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to the Post that Matthew Livelsberger, 37, had rented the electric van that caught fire on New Year's Day in the hotel's valet parking area.
Livelsberger was behind the wheel of the Tesla truck, which was filled with fireworks-style mortars, camping fuel and canisters, when the explosion occurred, News5 reported early Thursday, citing law enforcement sources.
Livelsberger has several addresses in Colorado Springs, at least one of which was raided by the feds Wednesday evening, KTNV reported.
The dramatic explosion outside the Vegas Trump hotel is being investigated by the FBI as a possible terrorist act.
The Tesla driver was killed in the explosion and at least seven bystanders were lightly injured.
It came hours after Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, carried out a terrorist attack in New Orleans early Wednesday, killing at least 15 people as he plowed his rental van into crowds along from Bourbon Street.
The vehicles involved in the New Orleans attack and the Tesla explosion at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas were rented using the Turo app, officials said.
Livelsberger, like Jabbar, had served in the military, according to Denver7.
The FBI is investigating a possible connection between the two men, according to KTNV.
A man who identified himself as Livelsberger's father declined to comment when contacted by the Post Wednesday evening.
