“Who will be the liar? », a board game by YouTuber Michou, aimed at children “from 7 years old” was withdrawn from sale at the end of December 2024. At issue: content inappropriate for this age, which sparked outrage.

Around ten cards asked players questions with a sexual connotation, which Internet users quickly pointed out, with supporting photos, after Christmas, on social networks.

Its boxes are now even the subject of a recall on the government website Rappel Conso, rather accustomed to pinning down dangerous objects or spoiled food.

The site is moving forward “moral risk linked to the contents of the game box not suitable for children aged 7 and over, following a production concern”.

People who purchased this game are invited to return them to the store for a refund.

“Manufacturing error”

“We have been informed of the presence of inappropriate questions in certain cards in the game intended for a young audience,” explained the Topi Games company in a press release on Saturday December 28, 2024.

“This situation is due to a manufacturing error in the content validation processes,” the company continued, adding that it understood “the outrage aroused by this incident” and assume “total and complete responsibility for this error”.

“The box will therefore be withdrawn from sale and a refund will be made to customers”completed the influencer Michou on X while apologizing.

This 23-year-old video game enthusiast has 10.2 million subscribers on YouTube.

“We are actively working with our partners, both in-store and on online platforms, to avoid any new purchases as quickly as possible”specified Topi Games.
