Bruce Toussaint (Hello!) talks about his new morning routine: “You have to accept having…”

For a year, Bruce Toussaint left BFMTV to present the morning show Bonjour ! broadcast daily on TF1. The journalist is happy with the success of the show, even if it comes with certain constraints.

On December 1, 2023, Bruce Toussaint said goodbye to BFMTV after spending five years on the continuous news channel. Since January 2024, he has presented the successful morning show Bonjour ! on TF1. Every morning, he is there to officiate the show. A year later, it’s time to take stock. “It is […] very positive”declares the 51-year-old journalist to TV Magazine last December 31. We are at the threshold of our audience objective which was 10%. This first year has been exciting, exhilarating”. He adds that this experience is “also very happy thanks to the whole gang”specifying that he feels “lots of heat” around him and he “very quickly felt adopted” by TF1. In this team of journalists, Bruce Toussaint can count on Alba Ventura and Paul Larrouturou on the political side, and Candice Mahout, who was also at BFMTV, to monitor cultural news.

On the other hand, everything is not easy in the entertainment of a morning. Every day, Bruce Toussaint has to wake up at dawn to prepare for the show which lasts from 6:55 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. “You have to accept having a very regular life”admits the father who humorously admits having to live “a bit like babies” : “I eat and sleep at a set time. That's the key. I sometimes come across my son when he comes home from a party while I go to work. I also try to rest well on weekends and disconnect.” He also confides that it is not always easy to have to wake up so early, because he is stressed by not being able to get up. He “think about it every night”. His solution? He explains that he has “a whole system that is put in place” and his “collaborators have the number of [sa] wife just in case”. Fortunately for Catherine Toussaint, her husband never had a wake-up call.

Still in the columns of TV MagazineBruce Toussaint confirms that he is “very attentive” to the feedback from his children regarding his show. “They speak to me without filter”, declares the journalist, which he appreciates because he can always improve. He adds that they “may have a hard tooth”but explains that he is nevertheless used to it and that he is “armored”. “Hello!, it’s a strong and intense human adventure, we’re all involved in it”he reveals.
