The tradition was respected: the New Year’s swim in Gruissan, organized at the chalet beach, was a huge success with 700 bathers, three-quarters of whom came in disguise.
And for this occasion, the disguises were very original, in order to appear well in the competition for the most beautiful costume. The task was tough for the jury, which had to determine the winners, as the choice was exceptional.
The winners for best costume were Air Gruissan, made up of pilots and hostesses from the new airline at Gruissan airport which was established on Chalets beach; Louis , Pamela Anderson, etc.
Everyone presented themselves on the starting line in front of a large audience who did not hesitate to encourage them.
The start was given and all these beautiful people rushed into the Mediterranean, a little cool it is true on this first day of the year. Amid general joy, everything was going well and Mayor Didier Codorniou was at the head of the swimmers. After having regenerated their bodies, the courageous were invited to taste a mulled wine after coming out of the water.
