The latest addition to Kia’s SUV family is currently reserved for the Indian market. But its next electric version would ideally complement the Korean manufacturer’s offering in Europe.
With its 4 meters long, the Syros slots in between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s SUV range in India. It will soon have an electric version. This won’t be the first electric model sold by Kia in India, as customers can already look to the EV6 and EV9. But the Syros EV will be the first electric model offered by Kia in the heart of the market where it will be positioned opposite the Tata Nexon EV.
What if this model came to Europe? Technically, it is not impossible, because it shares its underside with the Hyundai Inster and we should find the same batteries of 42 and 49 kWh. While being more bulky, the Kia Syros has a wheelbase almost identical to that of the Inster (2550 mm compared to 2580 mm).

From a style point of view, the Syros would fit rather well into the European range, since it uses the same codes as the EV9 or EV3 with its cubic look and vertical front. The same goes inside with the dual screen or the two-spoke steering wheel.
Its arrival in Europe would allow Kia to position itself in the niche of electric models between 20,000 and 25,000 euros.
