The Student Coordination of Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (CE-UASZ) announced in a press release the suspension of the strike slogan and called on students to resume classes on Monday January 6, 2025, while maintaining their vigilance in the face of their demands.
This decision reflects a spirit of responsibility and solidarity, aiming to balance the fight for improving university conditions with the pursuit of studies.
Progress Made:
Dietary conditions : Notable progress in the construction of the production area of the Diabir restaurant.
Infrastructures : Resumption of PGF-SUP construction sites, closure of pavilion E, increase in bunk beds, repair of educational infrastructure, and reception of the medical service.
Position on Single Sessions:
The CE-UASZ rejects the imposition of single sessions, advocating a return to two normal sessions and two retakes for a fair academic evaluation.
Institutional Commitments:
Among other things, the Coordination welcomes the efforts of the authorities to improve infrastructure, funding research (1.5% of GDP by 2030) and the transformation of higher education, while calling for student mobilization continues to consolidate these achievements.
