A murder investigation is opened
After carrying out an autopsy on December 31 at the Saint-Etienne forensic institute, the Roanne public prosecutor’s office indicated in a press release this Thursday, January 2 that the child was male and that his height and weight were “compatible with full-term birth”.
The prosecution also mentioned that the infant “did not present any malformation indicating that he was not born viable”. It has been established that “the body had been hidden in the bag and submerged”. The autopsy has not yet been able to determine the date and cause of death.
The public prosecutor of Roanne Xavier Laurent mentioned the opening of an investigation into the murder of a minor under 15 years old, “in order to implement the necessary means to identify the child victim, as well as to determine the circumstances and responsibilities involved in his death”.
