Emile Soleil disappeared on July 8, 2023, in Le Vernet, a village in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. He had just arrived for the summer vacation at his maternal grandparents’ second home. His bones and skull were found at the end of March 2024.
The funeral of little Emile will take place on February 8, 2025 at the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine basilica in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in the Var, indicated to Figaro the lawyer for the little boy’s parents, confirming information from BFM DICI. The mass, open to the public, will be followed by a burial in the presence of loved ones only.
“A mass is the possibility of experiencing this event in meditation. The child’s loved ones are suffering but they are deeply Christians and believers. They are in Hope. We must say it, express it and that is the aim of this celebration”the bishop of Fréjus-Toulon told local media.
The circumstances in which the two and a half year old boy died still remain a mystery. Emile Soleil disappeared on July 8, 2023, in Le Vernet, a village in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence located at an altitude of 1,200 meters. He had just arrived for the summer vacation at his maternal grandparents’ second home. The investigations, entrusted to the Aix-en-Provence investigation center, were extended about a month after the disappearance to the facts of “kidnapping” and “sequestration”.
