The National Union of Phonographic Publishing has revealed the ranking of the best-selling albums in France in 2024. Rapper Werenoi ranks in first position, for the second year in a row, ahead of, among others, pop star Taylor Swift, but also Billie Eilish or Pierre Garnier.
Top artists. The ranking of the best album sales in France last year, established by The National Union of Phonographic Edition (Snep), has been revealed. Unveiled by Le Parisien, it once again honors the rapper Werenoi. For the second year in a row, the artist, who has become a real phenomenon in just four years despite great discretion in the media, climbs to the top of the biggest album sellers in 2024, with his second opus “Pyramide”, sold nearly 277,000 copies. A feat that he had already achieved in 2023 with his first record “Carré”.
He is followed by another rapper, PLK, whose opus “Chambre 104”, displays nearly 251,000 sales. But this year, the leading trio is not exclusively taken over by urban music. The rock group Indochine takes the third step of the podium with their fourteenth album “Babel Babel”, released last September and sold more than 176,000 copies.
-Only two international stars in the ranking
The first international star on this list, Billie Eilish ranks fourth with her opus “Hit me Hard and Soft” (172,964 albums sold) ahead of two new darlings of French song. Pierre Garnier and his disc “Every second” comes in fifth place among the best-selling opuses, while Zaho de Sagazan ranks sixth, with his “Symphonie des éclairs”. Still widely acclaimed, the Enfoirés album 2024 climbs to the seventh step, like last year, ahead of the rapper SDM and his record “A la vie à la mort”.
The mega star Taylor Swift is also among the biggest record sellers in France with her “Tortured Poet Departement”, but only comes in ninth place with nearly 153,000 copies sold ahead of JUL, which closes this top 10 list. best-selling albums in France with “Update”. A ranking largely dominated, like last year, by French productions.
