Movie star Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot – recalled the experience in a post shared on Instagram last week, writing that she received her diagnosis when she was eight months pregnant and that her fourth child was born before she had to undergo emergency surgery for treatment.
In February 2024, Gal Gadot said she was diagnosed with a “blood clot” after weeks of suffering “severe headaches that kept me bedridden, until the final MRI results reveal a horrible truth.
“For a while, my family and I were confronted with the fragility of life. It’s a stark reminder of how quickly things can change. In the midst of a difficult year, all I wanted to do was try to survive. I was rushed to the hospital and a few hours later had emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born in this moment of uncertainty and fear,” she wrote on Instagram.
Gadot added that her daughter’s name means “my light.” Before the operation, she told her husband: “When our daughter is born, she will be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”
The actress thanked the team of doctors who helped treat her at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, saying that thanks to them she “got through everything and is recovering.”
-The Hollywood star wrote that she wanted to share her story to encourage her followers to listen to their bodies and raise awareness of the importance of taking action.
“I always reflect on the miracle that was given to me. My daughter, Ori, constantly reminds us of the resilience, hope and strength we carry within us. My wish is that we all find the light, experience our own miracles, and continue to monitor our health and the health of others,” she continued.
Gal Gadot announced the birth of her daughter Ori on March 3, 2024. Gadot and her husband Jaron Varsano have Alma (13), Maya (7) and Daniella (3) together. The couple has been married since 2008.
