Tesla is not only making electric cars and is adding more and more accessories to its online store. The latest update is a metal key card for Cybertruck owners.
Here’s what we know
The Cybertruck, like other Tesla models, is equipped as standard with a plastic key card which can be supplemented with a digital key function on a smartphone. But the metal version is a “practical, durable and versatile” alternative, according to the manufacturer.
This key card (shown in the gallery photo below) is made of stainless steel and is suitable for situations where a smartphone is not available or when you need to hand over the car to someone else – a friend or , for example, a valet.
From a functional point of view, the metal card does not differ from the usual plastic card, but its different material gives it a more “statutory” look. This novelty costs 60 dollars, which is 20 dollars more than a plastic card.
Why is this necessary?
Tesla knows how to build a cult following around its products, and the metal key card is just one more way to reinforce that status. For Cybertruck owners who value exclusivity and are ready to spend money on accessories, this novelty will definitely be a nice addition.
