With its opening in September 2023, the L’Aiglon cinema completes its first full year of activity, in 2024. And as 2025 begins, it is time to take stock for the establishment in L’Aigle (Orne).

2024 in numbers

Between 1is January and December 22, 2024, the L’Aigle cinema welcomed more than 82,000 spectators. An already impressive figure for a population area like that of the Pays de L’Aigle.

We are aiming for 90,000 entries by 2025!

It must be said that for the cinema team, the dynamics observed at the end of the year are rather encouraging.

A loyal audience

The last quarter of 2024 recorded an increase of 2,000 entries compared to the same period in 2023.

Furthermore, L’Aiglon benefits from a loyal audience. Subscriber cards are a great success, and some spectators have used more than a hundred uses in just one year!

Heroes and emotions

Nationally, 2024 will remain as a record year. Cinemas have never attracted so many spectators since the pandemic, and even a few years before.

Significant fact, the two best films at the box office are French. “A Little Thing in Plus” and “The Count of Monte Cristo” won the gold and silver medals respectively. A double that had not happened for 13 years.

Unsurprisingly, national trends are found at L’Aiglon.

The top 3 at L’Aigle

A little something extra

The film crushed the competition with nearly 10,000 admissions. On certain screenings, Un P’tit truc en plus even forced the cinema team to refuse spectators, in theaters that were already full.

With such enthusiasm, it became the second film with the most admissions to L’Aigle for 20 years, just behind “Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis”.

Le Comte de Monte Cristo

With 4,300 admissions, the film was popular, notably thanks to its good casting and its magnificent settings, remaining on display all summer long.

Vice-Versa 2

The Pixar animated film follows, in third place, with 3,900 admissions. Worldwide, he is the great champion of 2024. He even beat highly anticipated blockbusters like “Dune 2” and “Deadpool & Wolverine”.

The rest of the ranking

Animated films have established themselves at L’Aigle. “Moana 2”, still showing after only three weeks, already totals 3 700 entrées.

They also organize birthday parties

Since September, L’Aiglon has been offering birthday packages. Six children have already blown out their candles at the cinema, bringing together no less than sixty guests.
On the program, a cinema session, a personalized message projected, a drink, a cake made by local pastry chef Jonathan Joubert, a private floor and even a tour of the management and behind the scenes!
In December, two Christmas trees were also organized at the cinema for local businesses. Enough to further strengthen the anchoring of cinema in local life.

French comedies are not left out, with “Cokarico”, 2,700 entries et “Retirement Home 2”, 2,300 entries.

A nice surprise also for “Phew Love”, who attracted 2,000 spectators.

Significant events

Throughout the year, the cinema has increased collaborations with local associations.

We remember among others Ysos or the MJC, with the Youth Crossroads. In the summer, the latter took over the square and the cinema rooms, notably for a video game competition on a giant screen.

Opera screenings also found their audience this year, with around 200 spectators over the whole of 2024.
