Between October and November 2024, several fire outbreaks were reported in this region, notably between the Belle Vue housing estate, the aerodrome, the industrial zone and Kataviti, during the drought period. Their unusual frequency has aroused the suspicions of the authorities, who are still investigating a possible voluntary origin.
