The successor to the OnePlus Watch 2 was shown in a first image about two weeks ago, which revealed a slightly modified design: the next-generation smartwatch will have narrower screen edges and a digital crown for easier scrolling applications and zooming on images and maps. Android Authority has discovered the first clues about the OnePlus Watch 3’s health features in the latest version of the OHealth app.
According to the latter, the OnePlus Watch 3 will have an electrocardiogram (ECG) to detect cardiac arrhythmias, as well as a skin temperature sensor. The latter works similarly to the Apple Watch Series 10, but instead of displaying the exact body temperature, users only receive information about whether their body temperature is higher or lower than usual during sleep. The skin temperature sensor is primarily intended to make sleep and cycle tracking more accurate. Another new feature is the “60-second report”, which collects data from all sensors within one minute to provide an overview of the current measured values.
It’s unclear if all of these features will be available on the regular OnePlus Watch 3, as the app says a more expensive OnePlus Watch 3 Pro will also be offered. The company is also planning an Oppo Watch X2, Oppo Watch X2 (46mm), and Oppo Watch X Pro. Although almost no details are known about these watches, the OnePlus Watch 3 would be based on the Google Wear OS operating system and equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip. Qualcomm, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of flash memory and a 500 mAh battery.
