The luxury brand has been located in downtown Brussels, more precisely rue des Fripiers, since 1954.
At the head of the brand for almost 40 years, Didier Tollet says he makes this decision reluctantly. The jewelry store specializing in watches and jewelry is no longer profitable, he confides to DH. The manager points out, among other things, the consequences of the health crisis and the generalization of teleworking. The brand has fewer tourists and employees among its customers.
Didier Tollet also accuses the public authorities, citing the former and current mayor of the City of Brussels, the socialists Yvan Mayeur and Philippe Close. “They fucked up Brussels”, he believes, highlighting the growing precariousness, insecurity and dirt in the hyper-center. Finally, he also attacks the Good Move mobility plan, according to him complicating access to the store.

This is not the end of jewelry, however. The Tollet family now prefers to concentrate on its two other stores in Waterloo and the Woluwe Shopping Center.
