Before La Liga’s declaration, Barcelona informed that it had requested a new license from the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) for players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.
La Liga announced on Tuesday in a statement regarding the salary cap of the Barcelona squad that “as of today, December 31, FC Barcelona has not submitted any alternative which, in accordance with the financial control regulations of La Liga would allow them to register a player from January 2.”
As a result, neither Dani Olmo nor Pau Víctor could be registered.
Prior to this La Liga announcement, FC Barcelona reported that it had requested a new license from the Real Federación Española de Fútbol for players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who must be registered in La Liga before January 1.
Furthermore, the Blaugrana entity denied having “requested or received any moratorium from another organization for the registration it seeks.”

Barcelona aims to register Olmo and Víctor by taking advantage of the rental of part of the new VIP boxes at Spotify Camp Nou, from which it hopes to earn around 100 million euros.
La Liga was waiting for the Blaugrana club to complete all the required documentation regarding the new contracts and their payment guarantees.
The operation, finalized by club president Joan Laporta in Dubai last week and activated after unsuccessfully exhausting the legal route to register the two players, should also allow Barcelona to return to the 1:1 rule of financial ‘fair play’.
This means that Barça, in addition to guaranteeing the continuity of Olmo and Víctor in the first team, could operate at full capacity in the next transfer market.
