A sixty-year-old succumbed to his injuries on Monday after being the victim of a gunshot to the head on Saturday while he was cycling on rue du Cimetière in Leernes (Hainaut, Fontaine-l’Evêque), the Charleroi prosecutor’s office confirming information from Sudinfo.
An investigation is underway to shed light on the circumstances of the facts.
The police and emergency services intervened on Saturday rue du Cimetière in Leernes to help a 66-year-old man who had been shot in the head. The latter was riding a bicycle when he was hit. Transported to hospital, the sixty-year-old finally succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Informed of the facts, the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office confirmed that the investigation “is continuing.”

The victim’s relatives did not know of any enemies. This Tuesday morning, investigators from the federal judicial police were still at the scene of the tragedy.
