Bluestar Linux is back with update 6.12.7: Firefox 133, LibreOffice 24, kernel 6.12, and more

The German Bluestar Linux distribution is back with a new refresh, and, in addition to kernel version 6.12.7, it comes with a long list of updated packages. Delivery remains unchanged, so those interested can get the Desktop, Deskpro and Developer versions. Additionally, Bluestar persists in its mission to make Arch widely accessible, primarily allowing deployment as a live distro with persistent storage media. However, those who want to run it on a mechanical disk or SSD can also do so.

The full version name is bslx-6.12.7-1-2024.12.28-x86_64. Without further ado, here are some of the updated packages.

  • alsa-lib 1.2.13
  • bind 9.20.4
  • Firefox 133.0.3
  • GIMP 2.10.38
  • Thunderbird 128.5.1
  • gtk 4.16.7
  • LibreOffice 24.8.4
  • mesa 24.3.2
  • xorg-server 21.1.15

The image file is quite large, weighing 4.9 GB. Obviously, existing users can simply update their system without doing a full download.
