This 14-year-old young man was presented to a juvenile judge who decided to place him with a family member before his trial, set for March 31, 2025.

Last June, a teenager from a town in Nice filmed himself, all smiles, throwing a dog out of an apartment window. The poor creature, held by the scruff of its neck, had been propelled into the air and crashed onto the asphalt several floors below with a heartbreaking cry of pain. Broadcast on Snapchat and quickly republished on social networks, the sequence caused excitement among Internet users and the indignation of several animal protection associations, including the Stéphane Lamart association, which then filed a complaint for “act of cruelty” .

Interim educational measure

Led by the Nice Local Judicial Police Service (SLPJ), the investigations established that the facts had not occurred in but in Tunisia, where the young suspect regularly goes. Aged 14, he was arrested on December 23, during his return to France, we learned Le Figaro Monday, confirming information from Nice-Morning.

Brought before a children's judge the next day, he was placed with a member of his family and subjected to a provisional judicial educational measure while awaiting his trial, which will take place on March 31. He will have to answer for “act of cruelty or abuse to an animal by recording and broadcasting images of acts of cruelty or abuse towards an animal”.
