Seven (7) people lost their lives and seven others were injured in various degrees in the collapse of a four -story residential building, which occurred shortly after midnight in the Al Hassani district, district of Merinides, in Fez.
According to a medical source, the results remain temporary, the victims continuing to flock to the regional hospital El Ghassani in Fez. The clearing operations carried out by the civil protection teams, supported by residents of the neighborhood, are still underway to try to find possible survivors or other victims under the rubble.
The building collapsed while its occupants were sleeping in their apartments. The drama caused a wind of panic in the vicinity, some residents of neighboring buildings preferred to evacuate their homes for fear of a similar scenario.
