Haute-Garonne firefighters intervened at Seysses prison, near Toulouse, on the night of Sunday December 29, 2024, around 1 a.m. A fire broke out in a cell in the semi-release prisoners' section. The fire was quickly extinguished by remand center staff before the arrival of firefighters.
A 49-year-old man suffered slight smoke inhalation. He was evacuated to a hospital in the city, in a state of “relative emergency”. Adjoining cells were checked and ventilated before returning to normal.
