A significant event took place this Friday, December 27 in La Teste-de-Buch, on the Arcachon basin. Around 4 p.m., near the Leclerc shopping center, a police officer fired three times in an attempt to stop a motorist who posed an immediate threat.

A turbulent police intervention

According to initial information, police officers on patrol in the area spotted an individual whose behavior quickly aroused their attention. As they approached, the man rushed into his vehicle and drove off. The officers tried to stop him, but the motorist allegedly refused to comply and drove towards them.

In an attempt to neutralize him, one of the police officers opened fire three times. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Despite these shots, the driver managed to flee, and his vehicle has not yet been located.

Research and investigation underway

The police are currently mobilized to find the fugitive. The investigation, entrusted to the public prosecutor's office, aims to clarify the exact circumstances of this incident.

“An investigation is underway to identify and arrest the motorist, as well as to understand precisely how the events unfolded,” declared the prosecution, requested by the newspaper Sud Ouest.

This incident, which occurred in the middle of the holiday season, caused great concern among numerous passers-by near the Leclerc center. The security of public places remains a priority for the authorities, who reiterate the importance of their mobilization in the face of such situations.
