International Ramin Rezaeian was summoned by his federation's ethics committee for hugging a female supporter before a match in the Persian Gulf Pro League.
In Iran, Ramin Rezaeian exposed himself to sanction by hugging a supporter before a championship match, between his team Esteghlal and that of Chadormalu. The 34-year-old defender was summoned by the ethics committee of the Iranian Football Federation, the Tasnim news agency reported this Friday, December 27.

Islamic law in force in the country since the 1979 revolution prohibits a man from having physical contact with a woman outside the family circle. Furthermore, women were not allowed to enter a stadium for several decades in Iran.
If Ramin Rezaeian's sanction is not yet known, a similar episode which took place a few months ago allows us to get an idea. Last April, Hossein Hosseini, also an Esteghlal player, was suspended for a match after hugging a supporter. The media then indicated that the Federation had fined him 300 million tomans (4,400 euros) for “bad behavior towards security agents during the match”.
