The year 2025 will mark the end of the price shield introduced during the energy crisis, leading to significant changes to gas and electricity bills. While some consumers will benefit from reductions, others will have to face increases. Here's what you need to know.
Electricity: reductions for the majority, but not for all
Good news for more than half of electricity consumers: regulated sales tariffs (TRVE) should fall by 14% in February 2025. This reduction results from the decrease in wholesale prices on the electricity market over the past two years.
However, other elements will attenuate these declines:
- Increase in the TICFE tax : The excise on electricity will increase from 21 to 32 euros per MWh in February, increasing the annual bill by more than 100 euros for some households.
- Increase in TURPE (Tariff for use of public electricity networks) : Planned at 10% in 2025, this increase aims to finance investments in networks. It should lead to an increase of 2 to 3% in bills.

Gas: uncertain but probable increases
