LIGUE 1 2024/2025 – According to L'Équipe, RC Lens and Stade Rennais have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Brice Samba to Brittany.
For several hours, the file Fofana School occupies the news Stade Rennais. While the winter transfer window officially opens on January 1, the Breton club is on its way to pick up the former captain of RC Lens, exiled in Saudi Arabia since 2023. But obviously, it will not be the only Blood and Gold to join the Brittany.

Rennes is in a complicated season (12th, seven points behind European places), and has sacked Julien Stéphan to install Jorge Sampaoli on his bench. Movement was expected in the winter transfer window anyway, but the Rouge et Noir could well sign a second big deal. Indeed, according to L'Équipe, Stade Rennais and RC Lens have an agreement in principle for the transfer of Brice Samba.
Lens must cut more than 40 million euros this winter in order to stabilize its financial situation. The French international (3 selections) is one of the logically transferable market values of the squad, and could sign until 2029 with Rennes. The amount is not known, but according to L'Équipe, it would exceed 14 million euros. Arriving in the North in 2022, Brice Samba could therefore experience the 6th French club of his career (after Le Havre, Marseille, Nancy, Caen and Lens). And therefore find his former captain Fofana Schoolas well asArnaud Pouilleformer general manager of RC Lens.
