A driver drove into police officers in La Teste-de-Buch in Gironde on Friday afternoon. The police opened fire but the driver managed to escape. He was nevertheless able to be identified.
It was 4 p.m. Friday afternoon near the E.Leclerc shopping center in La Teste-de-Buch in Gironde. Police officers were on patrol on the public highway. A motorist appeared and rushed towards the police, reports Southwest. One of the police officers reacted quickly and used his weapon three times to stop the vehicle.
At the sight of the police, the man suddenly jumped into his car, drove off and drove towards the police, our colleagues say.
Despite the three shots, the motorist managed to flee. The gunshots caused no injuries.
The motorist has been identified
The man was able to be identified according to France Bleu Gironde. “Very unfavorably known to the courts”, he has already been convicted several times in the past. Still on the run Friday evening, he had not yet been arrested.
The Bordeaux public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into attempted homicide.
