Waste management in Tournefeuille has undergone notable developments in recent years, reflecting an increased desire of the municipality and Toulouse Métropole to improve the service while responding to environmental issues.
In 2023, a significant change took place in waste collection. Toulouse Métropole, responsible for this service, has adjusted the collection arrangements, leading to changes in residents' habits. This reorganization aimed to optimize routes and encourage selective sorting, in accordance with national directives on waste management. In this context, from January 1, 2023, a simplification of sorting has been implemented. From now on, all packaging and paper are recyclable, making sorting simpler and more efficient for residents. This measure aims to increase recycling rates and reduce the quantity of final waste.
For the year 2025, the waste collection calendar is now available. Residents are invited to consult it to find out the days on which different collections are due: household waste, recyclables and green waste. The most important changes concern the household waste collection day for the entire municipality (except chemin de Fournaulis and Zone Pahin) which changes to Monday from January 6 instead of Friday as well as the management of green waste which becomes chargeable ( except service for 6 pickups).
These successive developments illustrate the commitment of Tournefeuille and Toulouse Métropole to optimized waste management, reconciling efficiency of public service and respect for the environment. Residents are encouraged to regularly inform themselves of changes and adopt good sorting practices, thus contributing to the preservation of their living environment.
