Against Westerlo, Hugo Siquet became the 20th different scorer this season for Club Brugge. A performance which, in Europe, had not been achieved since the 2016-2017 season.
It was a close call, but Club Brugge did indeed win its last meeting of the calendar year, Thursday, against Westerlo. This year again, the Blauw & Zwart are indeed playing a leading role in the title race.
On the European scene, too, the Club impresses. Nicky Hayen’s players seem liberated, the nets shake quite easily and an impressive statistic was born this Thursday.
20 different scorers at mid-season: a record!
By bringing the score to 3-2, then to 4-3, Hugo Siquet became the 20th different scorer for the Club this season. A figure which represents almost two complete teams, while the mid-season milestone has only just been passed.
The last time this performance was achieved, in Europe, was Real Madrid, in the 2016-2017 season, who also had 20 different scorers before the New Year.
For the Blauw & Zwart, it was Christos Tzolis, author of a new goal against the Campinois, who scored the most (9). He is closely followed by Andreas Skov Olsen (8) and Hans Vanaken (7).
