The Region, through the recruitment of doctors and health professionals, the creation of health centers, the reconstruction of hospitals or the development of the training offer, is mobilizing on all fronts, and largely outside its SKILLS “, declared Carole Delga.
The Region has already mobilized to support 9 rehabilitation and construction projects for paramedical training establishments in 7 departments. On the occasion of this Permanent Commission, it is mobilizing nearly €7 million for two major operations, in Montpellier (34) and Carcassonne (12).
The reconstruction of the IFMS of Carcassonne
The reconstruction of the IFMS of Carcassonne, currently located in the south of the city, on the site of the old hospital. The new IFMS, for which the Region invests €4.9 million, alongside the Carcassonne metropolitan community and the Aude departmental council (€1M), will be integrated into the Campus project supported by the City of Carcassonne and located in the heart of the city. It includes the renovation of the premises of the former Imperial College to relocate the IUT branch of the University of Perpignan via Domitia (IUT) and the construction of the new building for the IFMS which will now be able to accommodate more than 300 students. The project also provides for the establishment of IFSI-IFAS on the same site.

The construction of the new IFMS of the Montpellier Regional University Hospital Center. Dating from the 1970s, the current premises of the IFMS no longer meet the needs of learning and study comfort. The project led by the CHRU aims in particular to highlight the bringing together of all the professions taught at the IFMS, to develop the CHRU's continuing education and to offer a common living space for all students based on the health campus model. . More than 1,150 learners will be able to be welcomed within this new Institute for which the Region mobilizes €2 million (in addition to the €360,000 committed for the renovation of the establishment's amphitheaters in 2018).
