Dakar, Dec 27 (APS) – The head of government announced a new educational economic model which will be put in place, based on public-private partnership with funding based on performance and the financial empowerment of establishments to guarantee sustainability financial of the “vast project” of the educational company targeted by the new authorities.
“A rebalancing will be carried out to direct a greater number of baccalaureate holders towards scientific and technical sectors with technical and vocational education sectors which will be deployed in all the departments of the country which will all benefit from a vocational education institute (ISEP ), by aligning the framework with the skills needs of the clusters,” declared Ousmane Sonko.
An internship development policy for all students will also be implemented, he announced.
“The scholarships will include a professional internship component, while establishments will be supervised and encouraged to generate income through the valorization of their expertise and applied research,” said Mr. Sonko.
A permanent and constructive dialogue with social partners in the education and training sector will be established to build a stability pact within the university education space, he argued.
