The government announced, Friday, December 27, a strengthening of aid linked to home-work transport in 2025, via an increase in the ceiling for exemption from fuel and public transport premiums. « Au 1is January 2025, the tax exemption ceiling for the fuel premium is raised to 300 euros per year, instead of 200 euros »said the Ministry of Transport in a press release.
This ceiling for the employer's coverage of its employees' fuel costs was increased to 400 euros in 2022 and 2023 against a backdrop of an increase in the price of hydrocarbons, before returning to 200 euros in 2024.
To encourage the transition to electric mobility, the government has decided to also increase the tax exemption ceiling for the electric vehicle charging premium by 100 euros, from “500 to 600 euros per year”according to the same source. “Finally, the tax exemption ceiling for the combination of sustainable mobility package and public transport subscription also increases by 100 euros to go from 800 to 900 euros per year”concluded the ministry. The sustainable mobility package is paid to employees who favor so-called soft mobility modes of transport, such as cycling.
