We now know the price Manhester United are seeking for England striker Marcus Rashford.
Discussions around Manchester United and of Marcus Rashford raged on the other side of the Channel this winter. According to the latest information from Manchester, Reuben Amorim not ready to include Rashford in his plans.
This Thursday, United lost (0-2) a second match in a row in the Premier League against Wolverampton. But while Ruben Amorim appeared before the press, he explained the umpteenth absence of his attacker.
“Is Rashford’s situation changing? If he's not there… You can get an idea. It's always the same reason. I do what I think is best for the team,” he said.
We also know one other major piece of information about the player: its price. CuaghtOffside indicates that Manchester United a set an initial price of 60 million euros. For now, no club seems willing to pay the asking price for the striker. His salary may also be an issue.
The Red Devils are, however, preparing for life after Rashford's departure. Some big names are on the list to replace him: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nico Williams et Kaoru Mitoma. CuaghtOffside reports that these three are the highest on the list.
Kvaratskhelia looks to be a particularly exciting talent after impressing at Napoli. But Williams is also surely to be considered because of his release clause of 58 million euros.
Amorim enjoys complete autonomy over squad decisions, including the management of Marcus Rashford, despite the England striker's recent exile from the senior squad. According to ESPNneither co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe nor technical director Jason Wilcox are putting pressure on Amorim to reinstate the striker. He has now missed Manchester United's last four matches.
