At only 23 years old, the New Zealander will have known the biggest teams in the WorldTour peloton. In an interview with Dutch media In the Leader's Jersey, Finn Fisher-Black spoke about his change of team during the offseason.

A change of team to continue to evolve

Despite good performances during the 2024 season, including great successes in Oman at the start of the year, the New Zealand all-rounder wanted to change course. “There are several reasons for this” he explains. “I was in a situation with UAE Team Emirates where I was no longer growing. There's so much talent out there, and to some extent it's great to be a part of it. But to find myself, I had to do something different. Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe immediately showed me a lot of confidence, so that appealed to me.”

Within a very talented workforce, Finn Fisher-Black ultimately had little opportunity to play his personal card. “I felt like I deserved a chance in the races, but we agreed with the team that I would mainly compete in the smaller races in order to win more. I lost a bit of appetite for these races and I wanted more, but I only did big races to help others This role had meaning and I also liked doing it for my teammates, it also taught me a lot. led me to another team.”

A new role with more responsibilities

Within his new team, FFB will have many opportunities to shine, and on different terrains. “They believe in what I can do” he rejoiced. “The dream races that I would like to compete in are the Tour Down Under, the Ardennes classics and the grand tours for stage victories. Especially in the spring, I haven't really had my chance yet. I have sometimes ridden for Tadej (Pogacar), but here they believe I can do something myself.” Its program in 2025 also confirms all the expectations placed on it since it will be aligned with “Tour Down Under, in the Ardennes and on a grand Tour in a leader or co-leader role.”
