Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Friday, December 27, called for an urgent investigation into the fire at a guesthouse which left two people dead in Ho Chi Minh City (South).

The report, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, noted that around 5:50 a.m. on December 27, a fire broke out in the guesthouse in Tang Nhon Phu district, Thu Duc town, causing serious consequences, including two deaths.

On behalf of the government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered his condolences to the families of the victims.
He asked the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to order relevant authorities to promptly provide material and spiritual support to the victims’ families and take measures to stabilize the lives of those affected by the fire.
The city and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) urged to order relevant forces to deal with the consequences of the fire, urgently investigate and clarify the responsibilities of the organizations and individuals involved, and strictly handle any violation.
Ministries, agencies and localities should ensure the full, serious, effective and substantial implementation of the directives of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the government and the Prime Minister regarding the prevention and fight against fires, particularly during New Year and Lunar New Year celebrations.
