The Vivo Y29 5G is a new smartphone released in India (at least for now) with a starting price of around $165. Different storage and memory options are available: the device can be equipped with 4, 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, expandable up to one terabyte. However, given that there are only two card slots on board, users will have to choose between storage expansion and a dual-SIM setup. The Vivo Y29 5G is capable of 5G connectivity, but does not support certain cellular frequencies, such as the LTE 20 band commonly used in Europe.
Measuring 165.8 x 76.1 x 8.1 mm (6.53 x 3.00 x 0.32 in), the smartphone weighs 198 g (0.44 lb) and has a 6.68-inch display with a resolution of 1608 x 720. The display supports refresh rates of up to 120 Hz, resulting in very fluids. The company has chosen to use a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and a 5,500 mAh battery, capable of charging up to 44 watts.
The Vivo Y29 5G features a 50 MP main sensor and an 8 MP front camera. Next to the rear cameras is a multi-color light ring with various functions, including alerting users to notifications. The device is equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the side, it comes with Funtouch OS 14 operating system based on Android 14 and it is IP64 certified. Vivo has not provided further information regarding the availability of the phone in other regions.
