Two Qatar 2022 champions face off in friendly match at Parque Patricios

Just over two years removed from their victory at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, champions Rodrigo De Paul and Thiago Almada were spotted this Christmas in Bristol, in the Parque Patricios district, where they took part in a friendly match with the club’s futsal team.

The two footballers, from the Racing and Vélez clubs, shared a friendly moment on the pitch of the Porteño club. Winger Ángel Correa, a member of the squad that won the World Cup under Lionel Scaloni, was also present, although he did not take part in the match.

In addition, the Lanús player, also from the “Academia” youth team, Juan José Cáceres, was present during this Christmas meeting. The right back of the Paraguayan team played alongside “Motorcito” and the winger from Fuerte Apache.

At the end of the match, the footballers posed for the cameras of family and friends. The most photographed were De Paul and Almada, although Correa and Cáceres also participated in this friendly moment.

Atlético de Madrid’s last match for 2024 took place this Saturday, with a 2-1 victory against FC Barcelona away. The team will return to the field on January 12 to welcome Osasuna to Madrid. Thus, the players take advantage of a few days of vacation to celebrate the end of year holidays with family, which is why De Paul and Correa returned to Argentina.
