The new Class40 Zeiss was launched, Tuesday December 17 has La Trinité-sur-Mer (Morbihan). After ten months of work, this new boat will have the official number 208 within the Class40.
“Zeiss is proud to support this ambitious project, a project made in France and mainly even made in Brittany, like its spectacle lenses”, underlines the group which has a manufacturing plant in Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine).

This partnership between Zeiss and skipper Thimoté Polet was initiated in 2023, with a first rental Class40 and participation in particular in Jacques Vabre deckchairs 2023 et CIC 2024.
In 2023, before embarking on the Transat Jacques-Vabre, the Le Havre sailor visited the Fougerais premises of Zeiss France, his sponsor.
The program for this new boat in the coming months includes participation in the Normandy Channel Race, at the end of May, in Les Sables-Horta (Açores), at the end of June, in the Rolex Fastnet Race, at the end of July, at the 40 Malouine, in September, then at the Transat Café l’or (ex-Jacques Vabre), at the end of October, and at the end of 2026 at the start of the Rum Route has Saint-Malo“not far from the Zeiss spectacle lens manufacturing site” in Ferns.
