Australian firefighters are trying to control a huge bushfire spreading through a national park in the southeast of the country on Friday, they told Australian media.
No casualties have been reported, and no homes have so far been victims of the flames, according to information from the authorities.

The state of Victoria, in the south-east of Australia, has been facing numerous fires for about a week which have led to the evacuation of dozens of rural communities.
The largest fire, underway in the Grampians National Park, has burned 74,000 hectares some 240 kilometers west of the large city of Melbourne, Luke Hegarty, spokesperson for the fire center, told Australian channel ABC. Victorian State Emergency Control.

Conditions are improving but it will still take time to control the fire, the perimeter of which extends over more than 360 kilometers, he said.
“We have to have walked, driven or flown the entire perimeter of the fire to be sure we have it under control, which is no easy feat,” Hegarty said.
