Faced with his insistence and after “insulting remarks” uttered by his father, the 34-year-old man grabbed a saber from the room and struck his father in the face with the edge of the blade.
When they arrived on the scene, around 2:50 p.m., firefighters performed first aid on the victim, who was unconscious and lying on the ground in a pool of blood. His death was noted thirty minutes later by the hospital doctor.
A “rather calm” personality
Having left to take refuge with his grandfather, living 15 minutes away on foot, the alleged perpetrator finally returned to the scene of the tragedy, where he was arrested. The murder weapon was found in a coconut grove. The son’s blood alcohol test was negative. During his hearing in police custody, he admitted to having given his father a violent blow.
