Floyd Mayweather is one of the richest athletes on the planet and has never hidden it. In fact, thanks to his fortune, he can offer multi-million dollar gifts to people who matter to him. He has just proven it for Christmas 2024.
Indeed, the former boxer with 50 victories and no defeats, decided to offer an unimaginable gift to his grandson. He offered a New York building. The 47-year-old former sportsman decided to immortalize the moment on his social networks.
Floyd Mayweather’s incredible gift to his grandson
In a video published on X and Instagram, we can discover Floyd Mayweather announcing the big news to his grandson. “You are the first child to own a building in the Diamond District in New York! I bought you a building”announces the former boxer to a little boy who is obviously not aware of the value of his grandfather’s gift.
The media TMZfor his part, indicated at what price the 47-year-old former sportsman would have purchased this priceless property. According to our colleagues, the transaction would be around $20 million. Moreover, TMZ revealed the address at which the building in question would be located.
The former boxer owns numerous buildings
This would be located in the heart of Manhattan. Namely at the corner of 6th Avenue and 47th Street in New York. Floyd Mayweather thought of everything, even his grandson’s future. Given that the building of which the latter will become owner, includes offices but also a “diamond exchange”underlines the Parisian.
“I used to shop at the diamond exchange when I was a young adult”explained the former boxer in a press release shared by TMZbefore continuing: “I never thought I would end up owning this important property at the entrance to 47th Street”.
A gift far from surprising in reality. Indeed, as our colleagues from Le Parisien recall, Floyd Mayweather, after retiring from boxing, decided to retrain in real estate. Since its reconversion, he owns more than 60 buildings in New York, for just over $402 million. Although the former boxer already had a lot of money, he was perfectly successful in his career change.
