“On the occasion of the Christmas holidays, taking advantage of the ingenuity and cunning of the Terna Group (a police group that disguises itself during interventions), we used the Grinch. He started the operation by breaking down the access door and, in the act of committing a crime, we managed to capture these three drug dealers who will be made available to the judicial authorities today.” A Peruvian police officer dressed as the Christmas character Grinch has led a police operation in Lima to dismantle a drug gang. The agent, disguised as the famous character created by the author Dr. Seuss, entered the house of a family of alleged drug dealers in San Bartolo, in the south of Lima. The police unit involved often dresses up its officers as famous people during operations during festive periods, such as Halloween and Christmas. The agents also dressed up as superheroes and horror movie characters such as Freddy Krueger and Jason. During the operation, the Grinch and other police officers arrested three people allegedly involved in drug dealing in Lima. Police said they seized several small packages of cocaine and cash during the operation.
