Vianese closes its 2024 in the best possible way, winning the heartfelt derby against Sporting Scandiano. After a few minutes of play, the home team immediately called upon Captain Della Corte to make a prodigious intervention. On the immediate restart, Falanelli tries to beat Antonioni with a nice diagonal shot, but his shot ends up wide. Malivojevic and Bertetti then frightened Sporting's rearguard, but they failed to break the deadlock. Mister Baroni's boys respond a few turns of the clock from the half hour mark, when Luca Barbieri runs down the left and puts in a cross shot which no teammate manages to reach. Just before the match begins to get ugly, Silvestro has the great chance to take the lead: only on the left, the former Mantova player shoots towards goal and hits the post. On the rebound, Vaccari doesn't break the deadlock only because of a great save from the home defence. Five minutes from half-time, the event that could change the fate of the match. On a cross from the left, Silvestro himself hits the ball with one hand and awards the penalty to Sporting. Give it eleven metres (Photo)However, a gigantic Della Corte hypnotizes Davitti. Having escaped the final danger, Vianese began the second half with great determination and, after having come close to scoring with Bernabei's free kick, found a way to take the lead. Malivojevic suggests for Falanelli who, in the area, is very good at evading the opponent's recovery and leaving Antonioni no chance. Ten minutes later, Bertetti would have the chance to double the lead. On the golden ball served to him by Caselli, the former Virtus striker Castelfranco was not cool enough to overcome Antonioni, with his conclusion finishing high. Subsequently, after the red card received from the bench by Zinani, it was Malivojevic, for Vianese, and Matteo Ferrari, for Sporting, who created the two noteworthy occasions; the score, however, remains unchanged. Shortly after Matteo Ferrari's shot, Sarnelli's rossoblù are left with ten men: Sighinolfi commits a dubious foul from behind and is removed from the field by the referee. In any case, the numerical inferiority does not weigh on Vianese who, in the fourth minute of injury time, puts the match on ice: Falanelli runs away on the counterattack and serves a perfect ball to Silvestro. The defensive player thus sets the score at 2-0, giving himself and his teammates an important victory.
