Cornelia Hütter vince in St. Moritz

Austrian Cornelia Hütter won the Super-G staged on Saturday in St. Mortiz, Switzerland, one of the seasonal events of the Alpine Skiing World Cup: the athlete born in 1992 completed the course in 1 minute, 15 seconds and 18 hundredths, ranking ahead of Lara Gut-Behrami (+0.18) and the Italian Sofia Goggia (+0.33), who thus closes the podium of the day.

The performance of the Italian team was more than decent: behind the girl from Bergamo, from fourth to sixth place, there are in fact Elena Curtoni (+0.42), Federica Brignone (+0.43) and Laura Pirovano (+0.70), while Marta Bassino is eleventh 84 hundredths from the winner and Roberta Melesi is thirteenth, with a delay of 1.01.

The performance of Lindsey Vonn was decidedly positive, having recently returned to competitions after her temporary retirement from the scene. The American champion in fact finished today's super-G in fourteenth place, one second and 18 hundredths from Hütter, thus confirming her very rapid readjustment to high-level competitions.

The weekend of the Women's Ski World Cup will continue on Sunday 22 December, again in the Engadine ski area, with another Super-G test: it will be the third seasonal test of the discipline, which in addition to the Hütter's success today recorded Sofia Goggia's victory at Beaver Creek last Sunday.
