During the interview given to Corriere della Serathe striker and captain ofInter, Lautaro Martinezalso spoke about his abstinence from scoring which is seeing him score less at the start of the season with the Nerazzurri. Here is an extract of his analyses, in which he also tries to give a different interpretation to his situation in front of goal: the criticisms directed at him do not always seem to take into consideration his current way of playing, which has changed compared to a few months ago .
Look, everyone at Inter scores except you. Does it weigh on you?
“I'm a striker and I live for goals. But you also have to analyze the game you play. And in recent months I've been playing further away from the area, because I like to get the team moving forward: it's something I'm adding to my I play and I feel good about it.”
Thuram's position also changed accordingly.
“Yes, Marcus is more central and more advanced, but it's not something studied: it comes from our understanding on the pitch. Last year he was often the one who fell back a little or went wide, now it's up to him to score more goals.”
Has the lack of summer preparation affected you?
“After the Copa America victory I returned a few days early from holidays due to Taremi's injury and I had some difficulties: the body sometimes takes its toll on you. But now I'm better.”
