In the super G in St. Moritz only Cornelia Huetter denied Lara Gut-Behrami the first success of the season.
The Austrian Huetter took the top step of the podium, trailing the Ticino by 0″18 and Sofia Goggia by 0″33.
«I'm happy with how I'm skiing in this period, there's just a few too many mistakes that I keep making», commented Lara Gut-Behrami to RSI's microphones at the end of the race.
The St. Moritz slope was not easy for the skiers to tackle, given the snowfall that had occurred shortly before on the Grisons mountain. «The snow was very soft, which made the track difficult to interpret», continued the skier from Comano, explaining the slight hesitation that cost her the race: «Around halfway, two waves crushed me back, and I lost something.”
Vonn's return was positive
Upon returning after an absence of six years from competitions, Lindsey Vonn finished 14th with a delay of “only” 1″18. A more than satisfactory result for the American, as evidenced by the smile with which she received the applause of the public of St. Moritz at the end of its descent.
As for the rest of the Swiss team, no one particularly shone, with only Corinne Suter managing to stay under a second behind, obtaining a place in the top 10. The Swiss came in tenth at 0″80, while more delayed Michelle Gisin, Delia Durrer and Joana Haelen.
