The hosts always try, al 13′with the right from far away Grigoris Kastanosbut the Cypriot doesn't have great luck either. Fear, al 15′per Youssouf Fofana. The Frenchman remains on the ground, after a fortuitous collision with an opponent, for a few minutes. There is fear of a knee problem, but it is only a (painful) blow: the former Monaco player regularly resumes his place in the middle of the pitch.
Al 23′ Milan knocks, for the first time, on the door of Lorenzo Montipò. The Nigerian tries from just outside the area Samuel Chukwueze with his classic left turn. Conclusion, however, weak and central which does not create any problems for the goalkeeper of Zanetti's team. Two minutes later (25′) here is the first yellow card of the match: the Rossoneri get it Emerson Royal for a hard and late intervention on Suslov launched on the counterattack.
Suslov is on the ball and in the game. Al 28′taking advantage of an error in Milan's construction, the number 31 dell’Hellas he tries his left foot once again as soon as he enters the penalty area. This time Maignan does well to lie down on his right and deflect the ball laterally. This is, perhaps, the first real concrete chance for a Rossoneri goal. Al 44′then, Milan asks for another penalty for a contact, in the middle of the yellow-blue area, between Abraham and the home midfielder, Ondrej Duda. Here too, though, fast 'silent check' at VAR and referee Marinelli lets it continue.
Then assign 4' of added time in which, however, with the exception of an attempted combination on the left between Theo and Álex Jiménez and an unrealistic shot from outside by Chukwueze, nothing happened. Verona-Milan 0-0 at 45': Milan will need something completely different in the second half to bring home three points. Or, at least, to try to do so.
