After Liam Lawson’s move to Red Bull, the Faenza-based Stellite team has announced the New Zealander’s replacement
ROMA – Isack Hadjar will make his Formula 1 debut in 2025 and will occupy the last place on the grid after signing for Red Bull and therefore becoming Yuki Tsunoda’s teammate. Junior RB driver Hadjar impressed in his second season in F2, finishing second behind Gabriel Bortoleto.
After Sergio Perez parted ways with Red Bull before the end of the season and Liam Lawson took over as Red Bull driver, this last vacancy for next year’s circus has now been filled. The RB group therefore chose to make Hadjar the 19th driver promoted to F1 since the start of the junior program, i.e. since 2001.
The 20-year-old Frenchman, a naturalized Algerian, thus follows in the footsteps of four-time world champions Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel, as well as eight-time Mondaile race winner Daniel Ricciardo.
“I’m very excited. I can’t wait to start my new job,” Hadjar said. “It’s a great thing for me, for my family and for all the people who believed in me from the beginning,” added the French-Algerian.
